We collect as little as possible
The short version: ScanFact does not collect your email address, phone number, or real name. We store only what you create — your username, scan history, and preferences. All ingredient scanning happens on your device.

We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, real names, location data, device identifiers, or advertising IDs. Guest users (no account) have their scans stored only on their own device.
Ingredient scanning
Photos taken through the ScanFact camera are processed entirely on your device using Apple Vision (iOS) or Google ML Kit (Android). No photos are uploaded to our servers. The extracted text is sent to our API only to match ingredients against our database.
Third-party services
- Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Data is stored in the EU (Frankfurt). Supabase is SOC 2 Type II certified. See supabase.com/privacy.
- RevenueCat — manages in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your Apple/Google account identifier and subscription status but not your username. See revenuecat.com/privacy.
- Expo — delivers push notifications. Your device token is shared with Expo to route notifications. See expo.dev/privacy.
- OpenAI — generates ingredient summaries and embeddings. Text fragments of ingredient lists (not photos) may be sent to OpenAI for processing. OpenAI does not use API inputs for model training.
- openFDA — we periodically fetch public adverse event data from the US FDA's open API to enrich our ingredient database. This is a one-way read; no user data is sent to the FDA.
FDA data disclaimer
ScanFact displays adverse event report counts sourced from the FDA CAERS database. These reports are voluntary submissions and do not establish a causal relationship between any ingredient and any health outcome. A high report count for an ingredient does not mean it is dangerous. This information is provided for educational transparency only, not as medical advice.
Data retention
Your account data is retained as long as your account is active. Free users' scan history older than 30 days is automatically deleted. Premium users' full history is retained. You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete account, which permanently erases all your data within 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete any personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
ScanFact is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to this policy
We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

لا نجمع عناوين البريد الإلكتروني أو أرقام الهواتف أو الأسماء الحقيقية أو بيانات الموقع أو معرّفات الأجهزة أو معرّفات الإعلانات. يتم تخزين عمليات مسح المستخدمين الضيوف (بدون حساب) فقط على أجهزتهم.
مسح المكونات
تتم معالجة الصور الملتقطة عبر كاميرا كلين سكان بالكامل على جهازك باستخدام Apple Vision (iOS) أو Google ML Kit (Android). لا يتم رفع أي صور إلى خوادمنا. يُرسَل النص المستخرج إلى واجهة برمجتنا فقط لمطابقة المكونات مع قاعدة بياناتنا.
خدمات الطرف الثالث
- Supabase — موفّر قاعدة البيانات والمصادقة. تُخزَّن البيانات في الاتحاد الأوروبي (فرانكفورت). راجع supabase.com/privacy.

- OpenAI — يُولِّد ملخصات المكونات. قد تُرسَل مقتطفات نصية من قوائم المكونات إلى OpenAI للمعالجة. لا تستخدم OpenAI مدخلات API لتدريب النماذج.
- openFDA — نجلب دوريًا بيانات عامة للأحداث الضارة من واجهة API المفتوحة لـ FDA الأمريكية. هذا قراءة أحادية الاتجاه؛ لا تُرسَل بيانات المستخدم إلى FDA.
إخلاء مسؤولية بيانات FDA
يعرض كلين سكان أعداد تقارير الأحداث الضارة المصدرها قاعدة بيانات FDA CAERS. هذه التقارير تقديمات طوعية ولا تُثبت علاقة سببية بين أي مكون وأي نتيجة صحية. لا يعني ارتفاع عدد التقارير الخاصة بأحد المكونات أنه خطير. تُقدَّم هذه المعلومات لأغراض الشفافية التعليمية فقط، وليست نصيحة طبية.

ScanFact is an ingredient transparency app. It identifies food additives, categorises them, and provides educational information. It is designed to help you understand what is in packaged food — not to tell you whether a product is safe, healthy, or dangerous.
What ScanFact is not
- ScanFact is not a medical device and provides no medical advice.
- ScanFact does not diagnose allergies, intolerances, or health conditions.
- ScanFact does not rate products as healthy, unhealthy, safe, or dangerous.
- ScanFact does not guarantee the accuracy of OCR text extraction from labels.
- ScanFact does not replace professional medical, nutritional, or dietary advice.
If you have a food allergy, intolerance, or medical condition that requires strict dietary management, always read labels yourself and consult a healthcare professional. Do not rely solely on ScanFact.
FDA adverse event data
Adverse event counts displayed in ScanFact Deep Dive mode are sourced from the openFDA CAERS database. Per FDA guidance: "A causal relationship cannot be established between a product and reactions listed in a report." This data is informational only.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your password secure. ScanFact accounts use a username and password only — no email address is required. If you lose access to your account and did not add a recovery email, we may not be able to recover it for you.
You may not create accounts for the purpose of abuse, spam, or circumventing free scan limits.
Subscriptions
The Deep Dive premium subscription is processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. A 7-day free trial is available for new subscribers. To cancel, manage your subscription in your device's App Store or Play Store settings.
Refunds are subject to Apple's and Google's respective refund policies. We cannot issue refunds directly.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: reverse-engineer the app, scrape our ingredient database, attempt to bypass subscription limits, or use ScanFact to make health claims about food products in a commercial context.
Disclaimer of warranties
ScanFact is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Ingredient identification may be incomplete or incorrect due to OCR limitations, unusual label formats, or missing ingredients in our database. We continuously improve accuracy but cannot guarantee perfect results.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScanFact and its operators are not liable for any damages arising from reliance on information provided by the app, including but not limited to health decisions, allergic reactions, or dietary choices.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

ما هو كلين سكان
كلين سكان تطبيق لشفافية المكونات. يُحدِّد المضافات الغذائية ويصنّفها ويُقدّم معلومات تعليمية عنها. هو مصمَّم لمساعدتك على فهم ما يوجد في الأطعمة المعبأة — لا لإخبارك ما إذا كان المنتج آمنًا أو صحيًا أو خطيرًا.
ما ليس عليه كلين سكان
- كلين سكان ليس جهازًا طبيًا ولا يُقدّم نصائح طبية.
- كلين سكان لا يُشخِّص الحساسية أو عدم التحمّل أو الحالات الصحية.
- كلين سكان لا يُقيِّم المنتجات على أنها صحية أو غير صحية أو آمنة أو خطيرة.
- كلين سكان لا يضمن دقة استخراج النص بالتعرف الضوئي من الملصقات.
- كلين سكان لا يُغني عن الاستشارة الطبية أو الغذائية المتخصصة.
إذا كانت لديك حساسية غذائية أو حالة طبية تستوجب إدارة غذائية صارمة، فاحرص دائمًا على قراءة الملصقات بنفسك واستشر مختصًا صحيًا. لا تعتمد على كلين سكان وحده.
بيانات أحداث FDA الضارة
أعداد تقارير الأحداث الضارة المعروضة في وضع التحليل المعمّق مصدرها قاعدة بيانات openFDA CAERS. وفقًا لتوجيهات FDA: "لا يمكن إثبات علاقة سببية بين منتج ما والتفاعلات المذكورة في التقرير." هذه البيانات للإعلام فقط.
حسابك
أنت مسؤول عن الحفاظ على أمان كلمة المرور الخاصة بك. تستخدم حسابات كلين سكان اسم مستخدم وكلمة مرور فقط — لا يُطلب عنوان بريد إلكتروني. إذا فقدت الوصول إلى حسابك ولم تُضف بريدًا إلكترونيًا للاسترداد، فقد لا نتمكن من استعادته لك.
الاشتراكات
يُعالَج اشتراك التحليل المعمّق المميز عبر App Store من Apple أو Google Play. تتجدد الاشتراكات تلقائيًا ما لم يتم الإلغاء قبل ٢٤ ساعة على الأقل من تاريخ التجديد. تتوفر تجربة مجانية لمدة ٧ أيام للمشتركين الجدد. لإلغاء الاشتراك، أدِر اشتراكك من إعدادات App Store أو Play Store على جهازك.
تخضع المبالغ المستردة لسياسات الاسترداد الخاصة بـ Apple و Google. لا يمكننا إصدار مبالغ مستردة مباشرة.
القانون الحاكم
تخضع هذه الشروط لقوانين المملكة العربية السعودية. تُحسم النزاعات في المحاكم المختصة في المملكة العربية السعودية.
